CCTV

Safety first!

It is impossible to imagine a modern security system without video surveillance. It is used for both security and control.

Video surveillance or CCTV / Closed Circuit Television is a closed circuit television system widely known throughout the world, which is actively used to protect various objects.

The latest video surveillance system is based on IP, i. via the Internet line referred to as "network video surveillance".

Currently, there are 2 main types of video surveillance systems: analog and IP systems.

  • Analog video surveillance
    - this is a closed system of television, which is built on the basis of analog video surveillance cameras and a video recorder. The signal in such systems acquires a digital form only when processed in a video recorder. The main advantage of analog solutions is cost. And this applies both to the price of the device itself (according to the minimum estimate, it is 20-30% cheaper than digital models with similar parameters), as well as to the organization of the data transmission line. The signal from the analog camera is transmitted over an inexpensive coaxial cable.
  • IP video surveillance
    - a feature is the transmission of a video stream in digital format over an Ethernet network using an internetwork protocol or IP, hence the name. The IP video surveillance system consists of network devices, each of which has its own IP address and a unique MAC address on the network. The first and main component of any IP video surveillance system is an IP camera. It is so important that the IP camera itself can be a complete IP video surveillance system. An IP camera can shoot video, record it to the built-in SD card, send notifications about events occurring in the frame, allow you to view video online on a monitor or smartphone screen, and can perform video analysis (video analytics), for example, recognize license plates.

Cameras and their varieties

At the place of installation: Outdoor and Indoor

Indoor (Indoor) - Not intended for outdoor use. They are mainly installed in heated rooms (offices, apartments) with minimal changes in temperature and humidity.

Outdoor - types of cameras where devices are protected from environmental influences. They are moisture resistant and, quite often, have a built-in heater.

By the nature of the video signal: Network (IP)  and Analog

The design of CCTV cameras

Dome Cameras. Used indoors, mounted on the ceiling or wall. The body looks like a transparent hemisphere, which, in combination with wide-angle and panoramic lenses, provides a large viewing angle;

PTZ cameras. A feature of the devices is the remote control of the camera rotation or the setting of automatic lens movement to follow a given route. More often used in outdoor video surveillance to control a large area or track cyclically moving objects; compact cameras. Video cameras in a miniature design are used for organizing covert video surveillance or mounting on small surfaces.

Cylinder cameras. They are used indoors or outdoors at objects where tracking of a small area is required with maximum clarity and the ability to enlarge details in the frame. The equipment uses telephoto lenses with a zoom function

Baby monitor (video nanny) -  is a digital video surveillance camera that transmits image and sound from the room where the child is. You can watch the child from anywhere in the house (apartment) or even from anywhere in the world if the camera is connected to Wi-Fi.

How to choose the best camera for your needs?

A video surveillance system performs certain tasks, and without their clear formulation, this system cannot be built. It is necessary to clearly understand what you want: a general overview of the premises or territory, or, for example, monitoring a certain place with the ability to identify unauthorized persons.

Main selection parameters
  • Matrix resolution
  • Viewing angle
  • Motion sensor
  • Lens brightness
  • Network connection method
  • Weather resistant
